Snow at Picton School

In the weekend Hugh and his family went up the Awatere Valley and brought back a trailer full of snow to build a snowman for Hugh's little sister Lucia. Lucia had not touched snow before.

Hugh put some of the snow in a chilly bin and brought it to school to share with everyone in our class. We all tried hard to build a snowman but it was too hard to roll a big snow ball. Our snowman turned out to look like a snow sculpture.

We invited our buddy class to come and join us and make some snowballs. When everyone had made a snowball we all had a snow fight.

Lucia's class got to see and touch the snow too. It was very thoughtful of Hugh to bring the snow to school, and there was plenty left over for Hugh to take back home and add to the snowman that he had made in his front yard.

It is meant to be very cold tomorrow too. Keep an eye on those hills. It might snow in Picton yet!
